Not only will Partition mean constant friction between "Ulster" and Ireland, but it will mean constant friction within the frontiers of Ulster itself. The proposed Ulster state has not been defined ok any intelligible democratic principles. There has been no plebiscite of the province of Ulster for obvious reasons; there has been no country plebiscites such as have been granted to the districts of Slesvig. The frontiers have been defined on the lines, which politicians of one way of thinking imagine they can control ans dominate in security. Within several Ulster countries, there will be powerful Nationalist majorities who will permanently question the right of a  parliament in Belfast to govern them and refuse to submit to an authority which has been designed to represent them. How, in the event of partition, the Nationalist majority of Derry City, with the frontier of "Ireland" on the other side of the liberties, is ti be kept in subjection, we fail to see. Partition means perpetual inflammation of the most acute kind and the existence  of an Irish irredenta within "Ulster's" frontier and an "Ulster" irredenta inside Ireland's.
